Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. December 2019
According to the results of the month, the PFTS index decreased by -0.14%, and the UX index, on the contrary, increased by +1.75%. According to the results of the year, Ukrainian indices lost significantly: the PFTS recorded -8.89%, the UX index -10.93%.
By the rate of return for a month, the sectors of CII with public issue had the following breakdown of the results: open-ended funds (-1,53% p. a.), closed-end funds took second place (-11,96% p. a.), interval funds were the third (-16,47% p. a.).
According to the UAIB, the value of the net assets (NAV) of 16 open-ended CII as at December 27, 2019 amounted to UAH 80.85M. According to the data provided at the end of December, the total decrease of net assets amounted toUAH 760.97k (-0.94%). The net capital outflow in the sector amounted to UAH 409,14k.
As of the end of the month, only five funds recorded a positive change in NAV, the rest ended the month with a decline. In December, the scope for rates of return of open-ended funds ranged from +1.82% to -1.19%.
According to the results of December, the following funds were the leaders of growth in the sector of open-ended CII:
«UNIVER.UA/Iaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii» (+UAH 26.76k (+2.10%)) – due to the additional placement of certificates (+3,04% in circulation) a net inflow of UAH 38.06k was obtained;
Other funds’ increase in NAV was due solely to positive revaluation of the portfolio.
The following funds made the biggest payments to investors in December:
«KINTO-Klasychnyi» (-UAH 567.64k (-1.91%) – the largest net outflow for the month in the amount of UAH 285.14k, connected with the desire of investors to fix income (-0.96% in circulation);
«UNIVER.UA/Myhailo Grushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnyh Paperiv» (-UAH 133.81k (-1.74%) – investors' filing for redemption of 19 certificates resulted in losses of the fund of UAH 69.24k;
«UNIVER.UA/Taras Shevchenko: Fond Zaoshchadzhen» (-UAH 47.66k (-3.87%) – due to negative portfolio revaluation and payments to investors (-3.43% certificates in circulation) led to a net capital outflow of UAH 41.97k.
«KINTO-Klasychnyi» (36.00% of the total NAV (UAH 29.11M)) took the first place among the open-end CII in terms of market share, the second one was the «OTP Fond Aktsii» (9,81% of total NAV (UAH 12.13M)), the third got the fund «UNIVER.UA/Myhailo Grushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnyh Paperiv» (9.33% (UAH 7.55M)). Fourth place was taken by the fund «OTP Klasychnyi» (7.70% (UAH 6.22M), the fund «Sofiivskyi» (6.29% (UAH 5.10M)) closes the top five.
The following funds were among the leaders in terms of rate of return:
«Nadbannia» (+1.82%), «OTP Klasychnyi» (+1.28%) and «Altus – Zbalansovanyi» (+0.74%).
The worst indicators in December were demonstrated by funds: «VSІ» (-1.19%), «KINTO-Klasychnyi» (-0.96%) and «UNIVER.UA/Iaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii» (-0.91%).
In December, the review included 3 interval CII, whose net assets, according to UAIB, amounted to UAH 2.64M. Compared to the indicators of this sector at the end of the previous month, the total NAV increased by UAH 4.87k (+0.20%).
Based on the rate of return, funds in the sector had the following breakdown of
the results: «PARYTET» (+0.68%), «TASK UKRAINSKYI KAPITAL» (-0.73%).
The net asset value of 2 closed-end CII included in December review, at the end of the month amounted to UAH 12.06M. According to the provided data, the total NAV of these funds decreased by UAH 72.11k (-0.59%).
According to the results of December, «Indeks Ukrainskoi Birzhi» (-UAH 66,75k (-0.59%)) became the leader of growth in the sector –net inflow of UAH 97.25k due to increase of number of certificates in circulation (+0.87%)
Based on the rates of return, funds in the sector had the following breakdown of the results: «Indeks Ukrainskoi Birzhi» (-1.45%) and «TASK Universal» (-0.60%).
