Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. November 2023

In November, the Ukrainian stock exchanges ended the month with the following indicators: the UX index decreased by -11.85%, the PFTS index again ended the month "at zero".

In November, the sectors of public collective investment institutions according to the rate of return index "since the beginning of the year" were distributed as follows: the sector of closed-end funds - +15.17% (-5.41% for the month)) and the sector of open-ended CII - +11.63% (-23.04% for the month), there are no data on interval CII.

 

OPEN-ENDED FUNDS

According to UAIB data, the value of net assets (NAV) of 16 open-ended CII as at November 30, 2023 was UAH 149.95 M. According to the indicators as at the end of October, the total increase of the NAV amounted to +UAH 1,776.49 k (+1.20%).

The list of the main players of the sector in November was as follows: the first place among open-ended CII in terms of market share was taken by the the "OTP Klasychnyi"  fund (48.79% of the total NAV (UAH 73.16 M)), the second place was held by the "KINTO- Klasychnyi" fund (16.05% (UAH 24.07M), the third place was taken by the fund "OTP Fond Aktsii" (6.67% (UAH 9.99 M)). The fund "UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii" (5.90% (UAH 8.85M)) took the fourth position, the "UNIVER.UA/Mykhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv" located on the honorable fifth place (4.48% (UAH 6.72 M)).

The vast majority of funds in the sector ended the month with an increase in rate of return, only six funds "went into the red". The range of profitability in the sector was from +2.09% to -10.96%.

According to the results of November, two funds became the leaders in attracting investors' funds in the sector:

 "OTP Klasychnyi"  (+UAH 1,510.74 k (+2.11%)) – due to the increase in the value of net assets (NAV) and the additional placement of investment certificates (+0.57% in circulation), the fund received the largest net inflow of capital in the amount of UAH 420.01 k;

"VSI" (+UAH 126.07 k (+5.21%)) - the increase in the value of the components of the investment portfolio and the attraction of investors' funds allowed the fund to receive "net" +UAH 111.52 k.

The following funds recorded the largest decrease in NAV in November:

"OTP Fond Aktsii" (-UAH 289.53 k (-2.82%)) - the purchase of a small number of investment certificates from fund participants (-0.15% of IC in circulation) led to a net outflow of capital in the amount of - UAH 15.58k;

"UNIVER.UA/Volodymyr Velykyi: Fond Zbalansovanyi" (-UAH 185.05 k (-10.96%)) - the decrease in NAV occurred solely due to the negative revaluation of the investment portfolio.

The following funds demonstrated the highest level of rate of return:

"UNIVER.UA/Mykhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv" (+2.09%), "UNIVER.UA/Taras Shevchenko: Fond Zaoshchadzhen" (+1.90%) and "OTP Klasychnyi" (+1.53%) .

The lowest indicators of changes in the value of investment certificates of securities in November were in the funds "UNIVER.UA/Volodymyr Velykyi: Fond Zbalansovanyi" (-10.96%), "Nadbannia" (-3.75%) and "OTP Fond Aktsii" (-2 .58%).


INTERVAL FUNDS

The received data were not enough to evaluate the activity of interval CII in November.

 

CLOSED-END FUNDS

The value of the net assets of two closed-end CIIs, which were included in the review for November, amounted to UAH 7.10 M at the end of the month. According to the provided indicators, the total NAV of these funds increased by +UAH 73.64 k (+1.05%).

Rate of return in the sector was as follows: "KINTO-Hold" (+2.22%) and "Indeks Ukrainskoi Birzhi" (-0.03%).
